A summary of our Enter and View visit to Longlea Nursing Home, where we spoke to residents, relatives and staff. Our visit focused on independence and choice. We have shared with commissioners and CQC.
At a glance:
Longlea Nursing Home has great potential in terms of its outside space, with a large garden out the back of the home.
It has a homely feel.
Staff are aware of hydration needs.
Relatives felt that food was good and dietary preferences were taken into account. The food is freshly made.
Impact – making a difference
The staff feel able to raise concerns and feel they have good training provided.
Since our visit, a new manager has started and looks forward to working on our recommendations for improvements.
