Dormy House Care Home

A summary of our Enter and View visit to Dormy House Care Home, where we spoke to residents, relatives and staff. Our visit focused on independence and choice. We have shared with commissioners and CQC.

At a glance:

Dormy is well run; staff are busy and enjoy their roles and working as a team. The change of manager has had a positive effect and the staff feel more empowered and relationships have improved since her arrival.

There are a number of areas for residents and residents to sit in to provide more privacy and quiet, if needed. Relatives felt welcomed by staff.

Staff are aware of hydration needs.

Relatives felt that food was good and dietary preferences were taken into account.

Impact – making a difference

Multiple changes have been made since the new manager arrived and our recommendations mainly centred around making positive changes for those with dementia.
