Bracknell Care Home Enter and View

A summary of our Enter and View visit to Bracknell Care Home, where we spoke to residents, relatives and staff. Our visit focused on independence and choice. We have shared with commissioners and CQC.

At a glance

Bracknell Care Home is well run; staff enjoy their roles and say it feels like a ‘family’.

The manager is well respected and appreciated by staff, residents, and the residents’ relatives.

The activities coordinator has used technology to enable those confined to bed to participate in some of the activities which would have been unavailable to them previously.

Food is good overall with a variety of choices and alternatives offered as needed. Staff are aware of hydration needs.

Impact – making a difference

The manager was very open to addressing the recommendations. An action plan is in place and changes will be made as part of the redecoration programme.

“The entire process was both positive and helpful, highlighting both what we are doing well and what we can improve on, to ensure we are providing the best possible person-centred care to our residents”.
